Human Rights Policy
Version: 1.0
Effective date: 19 August 2026
Last reviewed: 19 August 2026
This Human Rights Policy explains how Aperim Pty Ltd, which operates the aicial brand, approaches respect for human rights across our business, including our workplace, our supply chain and the way we design and deliver aicial’s services.
1. About this policy
Aperim Pty Ltd (ABN 46150699737; ACN 150699737) is incorporated in New South Wales, Australia and operates the aicial brand. In this policy, “aicial” refers to that brand; “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Aperim Pty Ltd; and “you” refers to a reader of this policy, including anyone who works for or with us, a supplier or vendor we engage, a customer, or another person affected by our business.
This policy applies to how we run our business as a whole — our workplace, our fixed-scope social-media audits, monthly reporting retainers and benchmark studies, the aicial technology used to deliver them, and, once available, our planned self-serve software service. It also applies to how we select and work with a supplier, vendor or other business partner.
2. Our commitment to human rights
We respect internationally recognised human rights in how we run our business. We are guided by the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), unanimously endorsed by the United Nations Human Rights Council on 16 June 2011. The UNGPs are the leading international framework for how a business should respect human rights. They are not a treaty and do not themselves create binding legal obligations on a company, but we treat them as the standard we hold ourselves to.
We are a young, early-stage company. We do not yet run the formal human rights due diligence programme of a larger, more established business, and this policy does not claim that we do. What we commit to is proportionate to our size and stage: respecting human rights in the decisions we can actually make today — how we treat the people who work for or with us, who we choose to do business with, and how we design aicial’s services — and avoiding causing or contributing to harm through those decisions. As aicial grows, we will build more formal human rights processes and update this policy to describe them.
3. How this connects to our other commitments
This policy does not stand alone. It connects to other published commitments that already put respect for people into practice in specific parts of our business:
- our Ethics Charter is reflected in our Responsible AI Usage Policy, which already commits us to consent before collecting a customer’s data beyond what their own service needs, no manipulation of platforms or people, and honest treatment of everyone whose data our services touch;
- our First Nations Intellectual and Cultural Property (ICIP) Statement reflects this same respect specifically for First Nations peoples’ rights to their own knowledge, culture and data; and
- our Modern Slavery and Ethical Sourcing Statement addresses forced-labour and supply-chain risk specifically, including the steps we take to understand and reduce that risk in our own supply chain.
4. Our workplace
We are committed to a workplace free from discrimination and harassment. Everyone who works for or with us — whether as an employee, a contractor, or under another working arrangement — should be treated fairly, with dignity and respect, wherever they are located and whatever their role. We do not tolerate discrimination against, or harassment, bullying or victimisation of, anyone who works for or with us.
We are a small, early-stage team. We do not yet have the formal human resources function of a larger business, and this policy does not claim that we do. The commitment itself does not depend on our size: it applies to everyone we engage, from the first person onwards, and we build the supporting processes as we grow.
5. Our supply chain
We also expect the businesses we engage to respect human rights. Our Supplier and Vendor Code of Conduct sets out the standard we expect from a supplier, vendor or other business partner we engage, including in how that business treats its own workers, and we take that standard into account when we choose who to do business with.
6. Raising a concern
If you believe our business, a person working for or with us, or a supplier or vendor we engage has fallen short of the commitments in this policy, contact compliance@aicial.com. You can also raise a concern under our Whistleblower and Ethics Policy, which explains how we handle a report made in good faith, including the protections available to the person making it.
Please include enough detail for us to understand and investigate the concern. We acknowledge and investigate a concern raised under this policy within a reasonable period and, where it is practicable to do so without compromising an investigation or another person’s rights, tell you the outcome or the reason we cannot share it.
7. Governance and accountability
Aperim Pty Ltd is an early-stage company. Accountability for the commitments in this policy currently sits with Aperim Pty Ltd’s leadership rather than a separate or formally constituted body such as a human rights committee.
As aicial grows, we commit to formalising our human rights governance — including clearer internal roles, regular review and, where proportionate, external input — and to updating this policy to describe that structure once it exists.
8. Review of this policy
We review this policy at least once a year, and sooner if our business changes in a way that materially affects the commitments in it. The version, effective date and last-reviewed date shown at the top identify the current policy.
We publish an updated policy on our website and, where a change is material, provide additional notice through the service or by email before it takes effect.
